Bella Welle Art Gallery Tour App is a tool for visiting museums and art galleries on a virtual way. The App offers information and bibliography from each featured artwork, being a research source for schools, universities, and other learning platforms.
Project duration: Jan. 2022 to Mar. 2022.
The problem
Large number of
people don’t have access to art galleries because of social, geographic and
other accessibility status.
The goal
Make
artworks available for a larger number of people using digital tools and
platforms.
My role
UX
designer designing an app for Bella Welle
from conception to delivery.
Responsabilities
Conducting
interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping,
conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on
designs.
UNDERSTANDING THE USER
RESEARCH DETAILS
After conducting interviews, I created empathy maps to understand the users and their needs.
A primary user group identified through this research was art students who don’t have financial conditions to visit art galleries.
As an initial assumption was confirmed that the interest in a virtual art gallery visit comes from people without financial conditions to make regular visits to museum, galleries, and other cultural institutions, but research also revealed that young designers would be interested in using the product to research references for their work.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
NEXT STEPS
- Working on Artist links to connect them to artists personal portfolios. - Analyze how many languages could be added to the projects without overloading the app.
WHAT I LEARNED
I learned
throughout the project that the initial wireframes are really just ideas that will
change with feedbacks and user research, they really don’t define 100% the user’s
needs. So, usability study is a key part of the process.
